Mt Lebo Scouting 2016 Philmont Trek – Youth Slot Available
A group of 20+ Scouters made up of Scouts, Siblings and Adult Advisors from Troops 22, 28, 65, and 284 are going to Philmont in 2016.
We currently have one youth slot open and two alternate slots open. (Deposit required only if a slot opens up).
Trek Details
Expected Logistics (Expedition 12 day slot: 7/20/16 – 7/31/16, Tues –Sun):
Depart Pittsburgh: Amtrak 11PM 7/18/16 – Arrives Raton NM 11AM 7/20/16 (Train has a 6 hour layover in Chicago. Sightsee, get Pizza.)
Depart Philmont: Bus to Denver, fly out of Denver 8/1/16 – Arrive Pittsburgh in evening.
Philmont Trek Leadership Model: Philmont expeditions are structured on Venturing model. Completely youth run.
Planned Crews: 2 – One all male, one Co-Ed
Crew Leaders: Dan Craft (Troop 65) and Josh Dougherty (Troop 28)
Approximate Total Cost $1500
Next “Shake-Down” Hike: November 14-15 Laurel Highlands Trail

Mt. LEBANON CUB SCOUT SIGN UP NIGHT
When you’re a kid fun comes first. Finals, driver’s ed, and summer jobs will arrive soon enough. Cub Scouts lets boys have fun while teaching them skills that will help them later on. From the thrill of shooting an arrow to learning how to transform a block of wood into a race car, Cub Scouts is one thrill after another.
The Mt. Lebanon Scouting leaders have all come together to form a Cub Scout sign up night to be held at the Bird Park fire circle and pavilion on Monday, September 21st between 6 and 8PM. All boys ages 7-10 years old or grades 1-5 are invited to take part in an evening of fun, games, and instruction. Qualified leaders from all packs representing all elementary schools in Mt. Lebanon will be there to monitor and answer any questions parents may have about the scouting program.
